All the Dust Will Go

When the skies are looking bad my dear
And your heart's lost all its hope
After dawn there will be sunshine
And all the dust will go.

Our lives mean much more than we can tell

"Our lives mean much more than we can tell; they fulfil some purpose of God about which we know nothing; our part is to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not lean to our own understanding. Earthly wisdom can never come near the threshold of the Divine; if we stop short of the Divine we stop short of God's purpose for our lives."

... This is to have succeeded

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition. To know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Namasté

I honour the place in you where Spirit lives.
I honour the place in you which is of
Love, of Truth, of Light, of Peace.
When you are in that place in you,
and I am in that place in me,
then we are one.

All I Want is a Smile

Love on the rocks ain't no surprise
Pour me a drink,
And I'll tell you some lies
Got nothing to lose,
So you just sing the blues, all the time

Gave you my heart, gave you my soul
You left me alone here
With nothing to hold
Yesterday's gone
Now all I want is a smile

~ Neil Diamond, Love on the Rocks

Our souls are not strangers...

Our souls are not strangers to each other. We have a spiritual bond that transcends time and broken dreams.

I said a Prayer for you Today

I said a prayer for you today,
and know God must have heard.

I felt the answer in my heart,
although he spoke no word.

I didn't ask for wealth or fame

(I knew you wouldn't mind).

I asked him to send treasures
of a far more lasting kind.

I asked that he be near you
at the start of each new day;

To grant you health and blessings
and friends to share your way.

I asked for happiness for you,
in all things great and small.

But it was for his loving care

I prayed the most of all.

I wanted a perfect ending...

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.

Happy

Everybody thinks I'm lucky,
I know that from time to time.
Something hurts and I think it's mine.
It's a long way home but I'm doing fine.
I'll know happy when I get there.

I Can't Quit

If you think I should suffer in silence,
you better be ready to fight.
I won't hold my tongue,
and I'll push 'til I'm numb.
I can't quit 'til I get this thing right.

Ain't nobody like to be alone

Everybody needs a place to rest
Everybody wants to have a home
Don't make no difference what nobody says
Ain't nobody like to be alone

~ Bruce Springsteen, Hungry Heart

If God had a face...

If God had a face,
what would it look like,
and would you want to see,
if seeing meant that you would have to believe.
~ Joan Osborne

In your thoughts, you are without a chain.

Surely there is a grandeur in knowing that in the realm of thought, at least, you are without a chain; that you have the right to explore all heights and depth; that there are no walls nor fences, nor prohibited places, nor sacred corners in the vast expanse of thought.
~ Robert Green Ingersoll
